H. Christine Reid, has since retired after 20 years with the Pinal County Historical Society Museum, has a love of history that began in school. “Well, in Florence, I discovered it was just the right-size town to be able to start to see that mosaic and fit the pieces and people together. My main interest is Pinal County and Florence history, because our corner is often overshadowed by Tucson, Phoenix, Tombstone and Prescott. Those are the stories that are most often told, but our county is filled with unusual, sensational, and touching stories of other people. I have come to be familiar with a lot of the original families of Florence and the stories of their trials and tribulations. Some of the most interesting and quirky people have lived in and helped Florence grow over the years.
